Valtteri Rauhalammi

The Finnish conductor Valtteri Rauhalammi received his artistic training at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Engagements as first conductor have taken him to Trier, Gelsenkirchen and Hanover and his repertoire includes works such as “Manon Lescaut”, “Otello” (Verdi), “Aida”, “Der Rosenkavalier”, “Dialogues des Carmélites”, “La Juive”, “Die Passagierin” (Weinberg), “Innocence” (Saariaho), ‘Tannhäuser’ and “Der fliegende Holländer”. In addition to concert conducting engagements in Wuppertal and elsewhere, he has made guest appearances at the Zurich Opera House, the Nuremberg State Theater and the Mainz State Theater. From 2016-2022, he worked as musical assistant to Christian Thielemann at the Bayreuth Festival. Since October 2021, he has held the professorship for music theater correpetition at the HfM Dresden and continues to conduct as a guest at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, with the Dresdner Barockorchester and the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, among others.
