Adriana González

The young singer Adriana González, who is praised for her fine lyrical voice and outstanding musicality, is one of the most promising singers of her generation. In 2019, she won first prize and the Zarzuela Prize at the Operalia competition.
Born in Guatemala in 1991, she studied at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala and graduated with a teaching degree in music and a Bachelor of Arts in 2012. In the same year, she appeared on the opera stage for the first time as Zerlina ("Don Giovanni") and Despina ("Così fan tutte") as part of the Paris Opera's Atelier Lyrique programme. González already won several prizes at international competitions during her time in Paris. From 2017-2018, she was a member of the International Opera Studio at Zurich Opera House, where she sang First Flower Girl ("Parsifal") and Serpetta ("La Finta Giardiniera"). After successfully completing the opera studios in Paris and Zurich, González was, among others as Pamina ("Die Zauberflöte") at the Festival de Gars, Corinna ("Il viaggio a Reims") at the Gran Teatro Liceu in Barcelona, Sapho and Iphise ("Les fêtes d'Hébé") at the Opéra Bastille in Paris and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, Micaela ("Carmen") in Geneva, Giannetta ("L'Elisir d'amore") at the Opéra National de Paris and in Madrid, Liù ("Turandot") in Toulon and Countess ("Le Nozze di Figaro") in Nancy and in Frankfurt.
Her first CD recording with melodies by Robert Dussaut & Hélène Covatti won the "Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik" in 2020.
González's upcoming roles include: Mimì ("La bohème") in Barcelona and Toulon, Micaela ("Carmen") in Sanxay, la Contessa Almaviva ("Le Nozze di Figaro") in Luxembourg and Juliette ("Roméo et Juliette") in Houston.
