Ángel Macías

Born in Mexico, tenor Ángel Macías studied at the Escuela de Música and Danza et Monterrey. He attended masterclasses with Arturo Chacón, Eytan Pessen, Ramón Vargas and Javier Camarena, among others. He made his debut in Mexico in 2015. In 2021, he sang the role of Ulises in the Mexican opera "Salsipuedos" at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. Ángel Macías has participated in several opera festivals, including the 2021 Salzburg Festival Young Singers Project. He won first prize at the Opera de San Miguel in 2019 and was a finalist at the Nuits Lyriques de Marmande in France. From the 2020 to 2023 season, Macías was a member of the Stuttgart State Opera's International Opera Studio, where he took on numerous roles, including the Hunter in "Rusalka", Flavio in "Norma" and Fenton in "Falstaff". He has been a member of the Aachen Theatre ensemble since the 2023/24 season.
