Michael Fabiano

In 2014, the American tenor Michael Fabiano was the first singer ever to win both the Beverly Sills Artist Award and the Richard Tucker Award. He is internationally acclaimed as one of the most important tenors of our time and has won numerous awards. He made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 2009 in the role of Raffaele in Giuseppe Verdi's "Stiffelio" and at the English National Opera as the Duke in "Rigoletto", a role he has sung repeatedly ever since. In 2017, he caused a sensation at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence with his interpretation of Don José in Bizet's "Carmen". He regularly makes guest appearances at the world's most prestigious opera houses in all the major tenor roles in the Italian repertoire. In the 2018/19 season, Michael Fabiano made his debut at the Lyric Opera of Chicago as Rodolfo in a new production of Giacomo Puccini's "La bohème" and made his debut at the Staatsoper Berlin as the Duke ("Rigoletto"). He returned to the Metropolitan Opera for his role debut as Faust in "Mefistofele" and embodied another Faust at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the title role in Charles Gounod's opera of the same name. This was followed by his debuts as Hoffmann ("Les contes d'Hoffmann"), in the title role of "Don Carlo" and as Cavaradossi ("Tosca") at the Opéra National de Paris and the Staatsoper Berlin. Concert engagements have also taken him to the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow and the Sun Valley Opera together with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. His CD "Donizetti Verdi" was released in 2019.
