Rendezvous um halb 8

Many a good date has started at the bar: chatting about music and the world helps you get to know each other better before things get more serious. This season, too, we are setting up our bar once again on the stage of the Düsseldorf Opera House and, to mark the 10th anniversary of the partnership between the cities of Düsseldorf and Palermo, we are kicking things off with a very special rendezvous. Italian canzone and great opera music from and about Sicily and Palermo will be combined with traditional Sicilian music by the Trio Compagnia Bella, led by the Palermo-born singer Matilde Politi.

Making music together with ensemble members of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein gives rise to some special encounters. Through conversation at the bar, with varied and exciting programmes and the odd unexpected common ground, we’ll get up close and personal with the music!
