Sergej Khomov

Soloist
Born in Odessa, the tenor Sergei Khomov first studied acting and then singing in his home town. Following his vocal studies, he was engaged at the opera in Kishinev, the capital of the Republic of Moldova. Since the 1996/97 season he has been a member of the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and has since appeared on stage in the most important roles in his field. Guest engagements have taken him to the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Teatro la Fenice in Venice, the Berlin State Opera, the Vienna Volksoper and to Geneva, Lisbon, Lyon, Genoa and Amsterdam. His roles at the Rhine Opera include Verdi's Alfredo ("La traviata"), Riccardo ("Un ballo in maschera") and Don Carlo, as well as Edgardo (Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor"), Hoffmann (Offenbach's "Les Contes d'Hoffmann"), Lenski (Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin"), Massenet's Des Grieux ("Manon") and Werther, Don José (Bizet "Carmen"), Julien (Charpentier "Louise"), Mephistopheles / Agrippa (Prokofiev "The Fiery Angel"), Prince (Dvořák "Rusalka"), Turiddu (Mascagni "Cavalleria rusticana"), Grimaldi (Schreier "Schade dass sie eine Hure war"), Ein Soldat (Ullmann "Der Kaiser von Atlantis"), Hermann (Tchaikovsky "Pique Dame") as well as Herodes (R. Strauss "Salome") and Meister Pedro (de Falla "Meister Pedros Puppenspiel"). In the 2023/24 season Sergej Khomov will be on stage at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin" and "The Maid of Orleans" as Triquet and Charles VII.
