German-Greek singer Anna Sophia Theil began her vocal training with Prof. Gabriele Fuchs in Munich and completed her studies in singing and vocal pedagogy in 2022 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz with Prof. Hermine Haselböck. She has participated in various masterclasses with KS Edith Mathis, François Le Roux, Edith Wiens, and Charles Spencer, among others. She made her debut in the Stephaniensaal of the Musikverein Graz in 2019 as part of a “musical aperitif.” Since then, she has sung the first soprano in Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's “Lobgesang” under Christoph Altstaedt and Gretel in Humperdinck's original version of “Hänsel and Gretel.” In 2021, she was a scholarship holder of the Province of Steiermark. She also won first prize at the IMMCC Maribor International Singing Competition 2021 and was a semifinalist at the Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition 2023. From 2022-2024, Anna Sophia Theil was a member of the opera studio and then joined the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein on a permanent basis.

In the 2025/26 season, she will sing Marzeline (van Beethoven's “Fidelio”), Adele (J. Strauss (son)'s “Die Fledermaus”), Susanna (Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro”), Helmwige (Wagner's “Die Walküre”), Lauretta (Puccini's “Gianni Schicchi”), Ines (Verdi's “Il trovatore”) and, once again, Zeitel (Bock's "Anatevka"), Pamina (Mozart's “Die Zauberflöte”) and Gretel.
