Together with Suzanne Andrade, Esme Appleton and Lilian Henley, the animation artist and illustrator Paul Barritt forms the internationally award-winning theatre collective "1927", which combines performance, music and animation in their work. Paul Barritt has been responsible for film, animation and design in all of "1927's" music theatre works - "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea", "The Animals and Children took to the Streets", "Golem", Mozart's "The Magic Flute", "Roots", Stravinsky's "Petrushka" and Ravel's "L'enfant et les Sortilèges" and most recently "More than Everything in the World" at the end of 2022 for the Burgtheater Vienna. For "Golem" he won the Critic's Circle Award for Best Design and the Knight of the Illumination Award for Best Projections. In addition to his work with "1927", Paul Barritt also works with Musik Fabrik Köln on animated new music concerts such as the "Krazy Kat Project" and his short film "White Morning" (2013) was screened at festivals such as Sundance, Melbourne International Film Festival and the London Short Film Festival. He has also worked with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, for which he animated images by Dennis van Alsloot. He also lectures on animation and illustration at Middlesex University London.
