Anke Krabbe was born in Stralsund and studied at the music academies in Schwerin and Cologne with Prof. Edda Moser. She completed her studies with honors and graduated with a concert exam. During her studies, she attended numerous master classes and performed at the Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, and the Bach Academy Stuttgart. In addition to her first engagements in Bielefeld and Münster, where she was awarded the Operntaler prize respectively, she sang in “Der Freischütz” at the Eutiner Festspielen and was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association. In 2000, she joined the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Her wide-ranging repertoire extends from Baroque and Classical to Contemporary opera. Regular song recitals and concerts complement this opera repertoire. Guest performances have taken her to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayrische Staatsoper München, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Royal Opera Stockholm, as well as opera houses in Leipzig, Wiesbaden, Darmstadt, Bern, Catania, Kassel, Oldenburg, Taipei, Kaohsiung, and various venues in China.

In the 2025/26 season, she will appear at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in roles including Micaëla (Bizet's “Carmen”), Rosalinde (J. Strauss' “Die Fledermaus”), Countess Almaviva (Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro”), Liú (Puccini's “Turandot”), Nella (Puccini's “Gianni Schicchi”), and Flower Maiden (Wagner's “Parsifal”), and will also participate in a song matinee on Mahler and Strauss.
