Australian singer Luke Stoker received his training in Brisbane. While still a student, he was awarded the Wagner Society Award. In 2011, he was accepted into the Opera Queensland Young Artists Program, and in 2012 he began working with Opera Australia in Sydney. He made his debut as Masetto (Mozart's “Don Giovanni”) at the West Australian Opera in 2013. Before becoming a member of the Cologne Opera ensemble in the 2015/16 season, he was a member of the Cologne Opera Studio from 2013 as a recipient of the Australian German Opera Scholarship by the Opera Foundation Australia. In 2016, Luke Stoker joined the ensemble of Theater Dortmund. In 2017, he made his debut at the Opéra Bastille in Paris and has been a regular guest there ever since. He also made guest appearances at the Oper im Steinbruch St. Margarethen festival in 2017 and 2019 as Sparafucile (Verdi's “Rigoletto”) and Sarastro (Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte”). In 2020, he made his house debuts at the Volksoper Wien as Escamillo (Bizet's “Carmen”) and the Oper Köln as 1st Nazarene (R. Strauss' “Salome”). This was followed in 2023 by his debut at the Salzburg Festival (“Greek Passion”). In the summer of 2025, he returned to Australia as a guest performer, appearing as Osmin (Mozart's “Die Entführung aus dem Serail”) in Melbourne and Colline (Puccini's “La Boheme”) in Brisbane.
He will remain a member of the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. In the 2025/26 season, he will perform the roles of Don Fernando (Beethoven's “Fidelio”), the High Priest of Baal (Verdi's "Nabucco"), Figaro (Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro”), Titurel (Wagner's “Parsifal”), Simone (Puccini's “Gianni Schicchi”), First Apprentice (Berg's “Wozzeck”), and Sarastro.
