Bogdan Baciu studied at the Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca in his native country Romania. The baritone, who has won several international competitions, was a member of the opera studio at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in the 2011/12 season and was subsequently accepted into the ensemble. He made guest appearances in the role of the Geisterbote (R. Strauss' “Die Frau ohne Schatten”) in 2019 under Valery Gergiev at the Verbier Festival, in 2023 under Kirill Petrenko at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, and at the Munich State Opera. He also appeared as Marcello (Puccini's “La bohème”) at the Royal Opera House in London and the Semperoper Dresden. Further guest engagements have taken Bogdan Baciu to opera houses in Strasbourg, Vilnius, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Venice, Bucharest, and Armenia, among others. He has performed regularly at the Romanian National Operas in Iași, Cluj-Napoca, and Timisoara.

His roles for the 2025/26 season include Count di Luna (Verdi's “Il trovatore”), Amfortas (Wagner's “Parsifal”), Figaro (Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro”), and Escamillo (Bizet's “Carmen”).
