Stefanie C. Salm

Stefanie C. Salm was born in Augsburg and initially trained as a dressmaker in a couture atelier after graduating from high school. Further practical experience followed in the field of furriery and in musical theaters. After studying at the German Master School for Fashion in Munich, she gained further qualifications as a directrice in fashion design and as a master tailor for women and men. Today, Stefanie C. Salm has many years of professional experience in haute couture and in the fashion industry with numerous fashion houses and designers. Together with the duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos, she created a collection for Paris Fashion Week. She has also presented her own models in Paris and Berlin, among other places. She worked as a costume designer at the Theater Krefeld-Mönchengladbach and designed costumes for productions at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and various music academies. Other projects have taken her to the Bavarian State Opera and the Musical Theater in Füssen. She also collaborates artistically with Martin Schläpfer and Remus Sucheana. At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, she was initially hired as production manager in 2007/08, and Stefanie C. Salm took over as head of the costume department in the 2014/15 season.
