Marius Schötz

Marius Schötz studied classical composition and singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt/Main and the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, then acting direction at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin. His production of "Messiah from Hesse" was awarded the Max Reinhardt Prize, the main prize at the Federal Competition of German-Speaking Acting Students, in Graz in 2018. As a singer, actor and performer, he has worked with directors such as Alexander Charim, Katja Czellnik and Anna-Sophie Weber. As a composer, librettist and director, he works closely with Marthe Meinhold. Joint works have been produced at the Volksbühne Berlin, the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, Volkstheater in Vienna ("OH DARLING - DON'T BE SUCH A BABY"), the Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken ("Bouches Les Rouges - Eine Nationaloper") and the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe ("Wunder geschehen"), among others.
Marius Schötz conceived the composition at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and together with Marthe Meinhold the libretto and direction of "Kinder an die Macht!" at UFO - Junge Oper Urban.
