Young Lithuanian bass-baritone Žilvinas Miškinis earned a bachelor's degree from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2018. He then graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2020 with a master's degree in voice under Nadiezda Kurem. During his studies, he participated in opera studios in Lithuania and Gothenburg, as well as master classes with Kostas Smoriginas, Herman Keckeis, Robert Hyman, Bo Rosenkull, Barbro Marklund, Ulrika Tenstam, Martin Hellstrom and Almas Vilpa, among others. He has already had the opportunity to appear on stage in several important productions, such as. as Narumov in Tchaikovsky's "Queen of Spades" at Vilnius State Opera, in spring 2019 he made his debut as Figaro (Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro") at Estonian National Opera, and in August 2020 he sang the role of Surin (Tchaikovsky's "Queen of Spades") at Vilnius City Opera, where he shared the stage with Sergey Polyakov, Vida Miknevičiūtė and Almas Švilpa. After a scholarship from the Liz Mohn Culture and Music Foundation and two years in the International Opera Studio at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, where he appeared on stage in a variety of roles, Žilvinas Miškinis has been an ensemble member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein since the 2022/23 season. Here he takes on the roles of Masetto (Mozart "Don Giovanni"), Lion (Eggert "Iwein Löwenritter"), Angelotti (Puccini "Tosca"), Lauret (Tchaikovsky "Die Jungfrau von Orléans"), 2nd Harnischter Mann (Mozart "Die Zauberflöte") and Corporal in Donizetti's "La fille du régiment". He also makes a guest appearance at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Janáček's "Věc Makropulos" as Strojnik.
