Jake Muffett, who hails from Great Britain, studied at the University of York and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London with Dominic Wheeler and Martin Lloyd-Evans, among others. In 2018, he participated in the Glyndebourne Festival as a Jerwood Young Artist, where he made his debut in the role of the Official Registrar in Puccini's “Madama Butterfly”. In 2019, he was part of the Young Artist Program at the National Opera Studio in London. In the same year, he appeared as Mauregato in Schubert's “Alfonso und Estrella” at the Opera de Bauge and participated in various productions of the Northern Opera Group in Leeds. As a cover for the role of Figaro in Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro”, he accompanied the Welsh National Opera on its UK tour. In the field of musical theater, he sang in Stephen Sondheim's “Passion” as Lt. Barri at the Italian summer academy Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte in Montepulciano. As a concert singer, he has performed throughout Europe and several times at the Royal Albert Hall in London. In the 2020/21 season, Jake Muffett was a member of the opera studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, afterwards he joined the soloist ensemble.

Here, he will appear in roles including Phanor (Gounod's “Die Königin von Saba”), Dandini (Rossini's “La Cenerentola”), Marco (Puccini's “Gianni Schicchi”), Papageno (Mozart's “Die Zauberflöte”), Roman (“Comedian Harmonists”) and Dancaïro (Bizet's “Carmen”) in the 2025/26 season. He will also once again be responsible for the musical direction and arrangements of “Swinging Christmas” and take part in a song matinee.
