The New Fall Festival is coming to the Düsseldorf Opera House. Known for its extraordinary concerts in unique venues and a programme that blends pop culture trends, urban sounds and international acts, the festival will create a truly special concert evening in the unique atmosphere of the Opera House on 10 October 2026, when BOY and the Kaiser Quartet come together.
German-Swiss indie pop duo BOY, comprising Valeska Steiner and Sonja Glass, are known for their sensitive indie pop with clear melodies and great emotional depth, and are among the defining pop acts of recent years. They have explored life’s big themes without ever trying to be grand. With songs such as “Little Numbers”, “July” and “Skin”, they have accompanied an entire generation and carved out a distinctive place for themselves in European indie pop. The duo’s last regular show took place in 2019.
On this special evening, BOY will be accompanied by the renowned Kaiser Quartett. Almost 10 years after their last collaboration at the Elbphilharmonie in 2017, the two groups are reuniting at the Düsseldorf Opera House. For years, the Hamburg-based ensemble Kaiser Quartett has been one of the most exciting groups bridging the gap between classical music and contemporary pop. The musicians Amanda Bailey, Jansen Folkers, Ingmar Süberkrüb and Martin Bentz have worked with artists including Gregory Porter, Anna Ternheim, Daniel Hope and Leoniden, and have performed on stages across Europe. The string quartet enhances BOY’s songs not merely with grandeur, but with added depth, opening up new perspectives on a body of work that has accompanied many people for years.
The result is an event that epitomises the spirit of the New Fall Festival: bringing together exceptional artists in exceptional venues to create moments that can only happen here.
