Daniel Frank

Since his debut as Laca in Janáček’s “Jenůfa” at the Malmö Opera in 2011, Daniel Frank has established himself as one of the leading heroic tenors of our time through engagements around the world. He made his international breakthrough during the 2012–13 season with his debut in the title role of “Tannhäuser” at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. He later sang this role in Colombia during the same season under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel. Since then, Daniel Frank has performed “Tannhäuser” to great acclaim in Leipzig, Stockholm, Prague, Bern, Hong Kong, and Seoul.
Other notable engagements include: Peter Grimes and Lohengrin in Bern; Bacchus in “Ariadne auf Naxos” at the Vienna State Opera, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Gothenburg Opera, and Nederlandse Reisoper; Paul in “Die tote Stadt” at the Nederlandse Reisoper and Wermland Opera; Florestan in “Fidelio” in Prague, Bologna, and at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam; Tristan in Bern, Düsseldorf, Leipzig, and Luxembourg; Siegmund in “Die Walküre” in Stockholm, Düsseldorf, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Dortmund, and the Vienna State Opera; Siegfried (“Siegfried”) in Dortmund; Siegfried (“Götterdämmerung”) in Dortmund, Karlsruhe, Kassel, and at the Vienna State Opera; and Parsifal in Düsseldorf, at the Vienna State Opera, and in Essen. He has received several awards, including the Birgit Nilsson Scholarship and the 2014 OPERA Award.
