Bronwen Curry
Born in Doncaster, Great Britain, Bronwen Curry trained at the Legat School of Russian Ballet in Sussex, graduating in 1960. She then danced in cabarets and musicals before joining the Western Theatre Ballet (now Scottish Ballet) in 1962. Encouraged by the company's founder, Peter Darrell, Curry began learning Benesh notation and completed her studies in choreology in 1969. Later in her career, she was promoted to soloist and became the company's choreologist. Since 1967, she has restaged more than 50 ballet productions. In 1973, at the invitation of Beryl Grey, she became choreologist for the London Festival Ballet, where she met, among others, Glen Tetley, Ronald Hynd, and Rudolph Nureyev, whose choreographies she has staged worldwide. She worked as Nureyev's choreologist for ten years. Since 1990, she has specialized exclusively in Tetley's ballets, rehearsing them with renowned companies in Europe, the USA, and Canada. She is also a founding member of the Glen Tetley Legacy, which preserves his legacy.
