Salvador Mateu Andujar (Spain, 1968) received the INJUVE National Young Creators Award in 1994. That same year, he began his professional career collaborating with costume designer Pedro Moreno, followed by long-term collaborations with Jesús del Pozo and Yvonne Blake, which played a decisive role in shaping his artistic development. His work has also included collaborations with creators such as Eiko Ishioka and Franca Squarciapino.
He has developed an extensive body of work for cinema, opera and theatre, collaborating with directors and artists including Milos Forman, Pilar Miró, Pedro Almodóvar, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Chen Kaige, Alfredo Arias, Emilio Sagi, Nuria Espert, Jordi Savall and Guy Ritchie, among others.
In 2009, he specialized at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, leading to collaborations in textile research and embroidery with major fashion houses such as Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Valentino and Givenchy. He also worked with the Dior Héritage department on costume conservation, participating in the Christian Dior commemorative exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
From 2018 onwards, his work has increasingly focused on dance. He developed projects for Les Ballets de Montecarlo with Johan Inger at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, with Jean-Christophe Maillot for Expo Dubai, and Aurora’s Nap with Johan Inger for the Stuttgart Ballet. In recent years, he has collaborated closely with Goyo Montero on productions such as “Maria” (with Diana Vishneva), “Narrenschiff” and “Goldberg” at the Nuremberg Opera, as well as “Firebird” for Les Ballets de Montecarlo at the Grimaldi Forum (2023).
