Alexander Zaytsev
Alexander Zaytsev trained at the Bolshoi Ballet School in his hometown of Moscow. After graduating in 1992, he joined the Bolshoi Ballet. In 1995, he spent a season dancing at the Semperoper in Dresden, before moving to the Stuttgart Ballet a year later. There he danced as a soloist and principal dancer until 2013. Under the direction of Reid Anderson, he performed a wide-ranging repertoire of leading roles in classical and contemporary works, as well as world premieres. Alongside his work in Stuttgart, he was also invited as a guest artist by renowned international companies and performed at numerous galas.
Since 2013, he has worked as a guest ballet master, trainer and choreographer for, among others, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Stuttgart Ballet, the Vaganova Academy, Teatro alla Scala, Gauthier Dance, the Czech National Ballet and the Zurich Ballet. He has worked as an assistant to the choreographers Bridget Breiner, Douglas Lee, Kevin O’Day and Pontus Lidberg. Since 2014, he has been collaborating with the Glen Tetley Legacy, staging the choreographer’s works worldwide.
