Dukin Seo

Dancer
Born in South Korea, Dukin Seo trained as a dancer at the Sunwha Arts School in Seoul and the John Cranko School in Stuttgart. After graduating, he joined the National Ballet of Portugal, initially as a member of the corps de ballet and subsequently as a demi-soloist. At the start of the 2016/17 season, he moved to become a company member at the Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich. His notable roles include the Prince in Fernando Duarte’s ‘The Nutcracker’, Albrecht in Georgy Galaxia’s ‘Giselle’ and Orfeus in ‘Orfeus ed Euridice’ by Olga Morris. He has also performed in works choreographed by Demis Volpi, John Neumeier, George Balanchine, Christian Spuck, John Cranko, Menghan Lou, Christopher Wheeldon, Frederick Ashton, Marius Petipa, Hans van Manen, Ted Anderson, Eric Gauthier and Andrey Kaydanovskiy. Dukin Seo became a member of the Ballett am Rhein company at the beginning of the 2020/21 season.
He has since danced the role of a customer in Demis Volpi's "Closed Games", as Mr. Martins in Andrey Kaydanovskiy's "The Bald Singer", in Aszure Barton's "Come In" , Twyla Tharp's "Commentaries on the Floating World", Hélène Blackburn's "choleric", in the role of Drosselmeier in Demis Volpi's "The Nutcracker" as well as in Gil Harush's "don't look at the jar" and "Le sacre du printemps" by Marcos Morau,
