Chiara Scarrone

Chiara Scarrone was born in Italy and studied at the Scuola di Ballo Teatro alla Scala in Milan. After graduating in 2011, she joined the Semperoper Ballet under the direction of Aaron S. Watkin as a member of the corps de ballet. In 2016, she was promoted to coryphée and in 2022 to second soloist. Over the years, she has developed a broad repertoire of classical, neoclassical, and modern productions, including works by George Balanchine, William Forsythe, David Dawson, Jiří Kylián, Johan Inger, Alexei Ratmansky, Alexander Ekman, Frederick Ashton, Marius Petipa, and Kenneth MacMillan.
She played Manon in Kenneth MacMillan's work of the same name, Titania in Frederick Ashton's “The Dream,” Aurora in Marius Petipa's “Sleeping Beauty” (revised by Marcelo Gomes), Marie in Aaron S. Watkins' “The Nutcracker,” the Waltz Girl in George Balanchine's “Serenade,” and Tracy in William Forsythe's “The Second Detail.” She has also appeared in productions of “Romeo and Juliet,” “Giselle,” “Tristan and Isolde,” David Dawson's “The Four Seasons,” William Forsythe's “Impressing the Czar,” “Artifact Suite,” and “In the Middle,” as well as George Balanchine's “Symphony in C,” “Jewels,” and “Theme and Variations.”
Since the 2024/25 season, Chiara Scarrone has been a member of the Ballett am Rhein, where she has danced in David Dawson's “Empire Noir,” Hans van Manen's “Four Schumann Pieces,” the role of Livia in Bridget Breiner's Cinderella adaptation “Ruß,” in ‘Invocation’ by Mthuthuzeli November, and in “La Valse” by Richard Siegal.
