Born in Odessa, Sergej Khomov first studied acting and then singing in his hometown. After completing his vocal studies, he was engaged at the opera in Kishinev, the capital of the Republic of Moldova. As a member of the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, he performed the most important roles in his field. Guest engagements have taken him to the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Teatro la Fenice in Venice, the Berlin State Opera, the Vienna Volksoper, and to Geneva, Lisbon, Lyon, Genoa, and Amsterdam, among other places.
In the 2025/26 season, Sergej Khomov will perform Altoum (Puccini's “Turandot”) and Tinca (Puccini's “Il tabarro”) at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
