Theater enjoyment with hand and ear
For blind and visually impaired opera and dance enthusiasts and those who can no longer see very well, Deutsche Oper am Rhein offers performances with live audio description for selected Deutsche Oper am Rhein opera and ballet productions.
During the performance, speakers describe what is happening on stage competently and with a great deal of emotion, either via the app installed on your own cell phone or via a receiver in the opera house at one of the listening stations. The production, choreography and music combine in the mind to form a multifaceted whole. The offer is suitable for groups as well as for individual enthusiasts. However, advance booking at the theater box office is essential!

Pre-program
For every performance with audio description, 90 minutes before the start of the performance there is the possibility of a short tactile journey through the evening's production: depending on the play, parts of the stage set, props, costume parts and wigs can be touched during a guided tour of the stage and/or foyer, accompanied by a special introduction to the play.

There are no extra costs for the audio description, the audio device and the pre-programme. You pay the regular box office price. The project is carried out in cooperation with the Ballettfreunde der Deutschen Oper and Rhein e.V. and Aktion Mensch.

Holders of a severely disabled pass (GdB from 70%) receive a 50% reduction on the ticket price.
This offer also applies to the accompaniment of severely disabled persons whose ID card is marked with a "B".
