Spiel­club Musik­the­ater

At the Musiktheater play club, you become theatre makers yourselves! At weekly meetings, you can work on scenes, make music, discuss, write your own texts and try out various artistic practices in impulse workshops. You can also take a look behind the scenes of the theatre, attend rehearsals and performances, and exchange ideas with experts. At the end of the season, you will present your own musical theatre performance.

Astor Piazzolla's self-proclaimed tango operita ‘María de Buenos Aires’ forms the musical and thematic basis for this year's Spielclub Musiktheater. Together with the Landeszupforchester NRW and the Community Music Project of the Junge Oper, the StadtOper Ensemble, all interested young adults can share their stories of passion, life and love through dance and song.

Who am I? Who can I be in reality and who can I be on social media? And who do I really want to be?
The newly founded theatre club in Duisburg revolves around the theme of identity. Every week, interested young people explore how many facets they have and want to have. They give them a voice – musically and dramatically – and also explore everything that goes into theatre. On and behind the stage.

Are you looking for a place where you can let your creativity run wild and meet other queers and allies? Then come join Loud and Proud! Here, you can be yourself and use artistic means to discover who else you can be.
Together, we'll try our hand at dancing, singing, performing, and other art forms. We want to talk about topics that matter to us and that we're passionate about. We'll decide together what we want to do with it: whether it's a techno opera, a queer fashion show, or a performative demonstration—among ourselves or in public. Anything is possible!
