Luigi Bonino

Born in Bra, Italy, Luigi Bonino began his career as a dancer with Susanna Egri in Turin. In 1973 he became a soloist with the Cullberg Ballet in Stockholm before Roland Petit engaged him two years later at the Ballet national de Marseille and entrusted him with numerous leading roles, for example in "Coppélia", "Le Jeune Homme et la Mort", "Notre-Dame de Paris" and "La Chauve-Souris". In 1984, Petit appointed him his assistant in the creation of "Le Mariage du Ciel et de l'Enfer" at La Scala in Milan. Bonino held this position until Petit's death in 2011, before moving on to rehearsing Petit's works, which he continues to do worldwide.
