Owen Belton

Owen Belton lives in Vancouver and graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1993 with a degree in Fine and Performing Arts (concentration music), studying acoustic and computer music composition. He has been composing for dance for the last 30 years as well as creating sound design and music for theatre and film for the past 20 years. He has been collaborating with Goyo Montero for over 10 years, and at least 15 shows. Owen has created pieces for The Paris Opera, Ballet Nürnberg, NDT, The National Ballet of Canada and Kidd Pivot. He won a Dora Mavor Moore award for best dance score for Emergence (The National Ballet of Canada) and was nominated for Angels’ Atlas also for TNBOC.
