Tell me, Pinocchio, what on earth are you on about? You’ve seen people turn into donkeys? You’ve been inside a whale’s belly? And you’ve met the Blue Fairy? You’re pulling our leg! Er, Pinocchio… hang on a minute! Don’t you know that lies have short legs? You’ve made all these stories up!

Together with the Kinderchor am Rhein, the Akademie für Chor und Musiktheater and soloists from the ensemble, Marius Schötz and Marthe Meinhold turn the story of Pinocchio upside down and inject some verve into the fabulously tall tales of the talking wooden puppet who actually wants (or doesn’t want) to be a good boy. And whether wood chips are automatically useless – or rather a whole host of Pinocchios striding through life with charm and anarchy – is really not a question.
