Music that smiles
In the stylish ambience of the foyer of the Düsseldorf Opera House, members of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, together with singers from the opera ensemble, explore well-known and lesser-known masterpieces of chamber music on selected Sundays and public holidays.
In the 2025/26 season, the symphony orchestra will cover everything from the classics of chamber music literature by Franz Schubert to Richard Wagner's famous Wesendonck Lieder, right up to the current opera program with tango music by Astor Piazzolla & Co and a “Matinee Ravel” to mark the anniversary year of the great French composer. And, of course, the entertaining, lively music of the carnival season will not be missing, before a matinee dedicated exclusively to famous female composers and a concert of rarely performed Italian chamber music conclude the season.
