Spiel­club Musik­the­ater

At the Musiktheater play club, you become theatre makers yourselves! At weekly meetings, you can work on scenes, make music, discuss, write your own texts and try out various artistic practices in impulse workshops. You can also take a look behind the scenes of the theatre, attend rehearsals and performances, and exchange ideas with experts. At the end of the season, you will present your own musical theatre performance.

How far would you go to find out more? What tempts us to cross boundaries? Inspired by the season’s premiere, ‘Me_ stofele’, the theatre club for young adults explores the fascinating legend of Faust. Together, we’ll explore – through drama, music, performance and dance – the big questions that this story continues to pose to this day. Between heaven and hell, longing and doubt, insight and the abyss, a space emerges for creative experimentation, personal perspectives and collaborative artistic creation.

The theatre club in Duisburg centres on the theme of identity. Every week, young people who are interested explore just how many different facets they have and would like to have. They give these facets a voice – through music and performance – and also discover everything that goes into putting on a play, both on stage and behind the scenes.
