Born in Göttingen, soprano Lavinia Dames graduated with distinction from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, having previously studied with Prof. Faulstich at the Hanover Conservatory of Music as a student of early support for the musically gifted. She is the winner of numerous competitions. She has been an ensemble member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein since the 2014/15 season. Here she was, among others in the Mozart roles Pamina ("The Magic Flute"), Zerlina ("Don Giovanni") and Susanna ("Le nozze di Figaro") as well as Gretel (Humperdinck "Hansel and Gretel"), Gerda (Lange "The Snow Queen"), Frasquita (Bizet "Carmen"), Juliette Vermont (Lehár "The Count of Luxembourg"), Max (Knussen "Where the Wild Bunch Live"), Norina (Donizetti "Don Pasquale"), Galatea (Donizetti "Pygmalion"), Annabella (Schreier "Schade, dass sie eine Hure war"), Musetta (Puccini "La Bohème"), Julia (Blacher "Romeo und Julia"), Servilia (Mozart "La clemenza di Tito"), Adina (Donizetti "L'elisir d'amore") and Adele (J. Strauss' son "Die Fledermaus"). Guest engagements have taken her to the Komische Oper Berlin, the Royal Opera in Stockholm and the Kongelige Opera in Copenhagen, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Theater St. Gallen and the Prinzregententheater Munich, among others. In the 2022/23 season at Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Lavinia Dames will interpret the roles of Juliette in Korngold's "Die tote Stadt", Nanetta (Verdi's "Falstaff"), Pamina, Norina, Gretel, Zerlina and Adina, among others. She will also appear in the world premiere of Gordon Kampe's opera "Dogville" directed by David Hermann at the Aalto Theatre in Essen.
