Mara Guseynova

Mara Guseynova, winner of international competitions in Estonia, Latvia, Russia, and Austria, was born in Baku in 1998. While still studying in Azerbaijan, she performed repeatedly with the State Chamber Orchestra and the Youth Symphony Orchestra. She first graduated from the music school in her home country and was then accepted as a doctoral student in Prof. Uta Schwabe's class at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK). In 2022, she successfully completed her master's degree in solo singing there. At the invitation of the Sacramento Youth Symphony, she performed in Sacramento in November 2017 under the musical direction of Mustafa Mehmandarov and returned to California in 2018 for several concerts in Sacramento and Los Angeles. In 2019, she gave a concert in Bratislava, sang the soprano part in J.M. Haydn's “Requiem in C minor,” and appeared as Maria in the production of Gluck's “L'ivrogne corrigé.” Since the 2022/23 season, Mara Guseynova has been a member of the opera studio at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and afterwards was accepted into the solist ensemble.

Mara Guseynova will appear in the 2025/26 season as Ines (Verdi's “Il trovatore”), The Confidante (R. Strauss' “Elektra”), Anna (Verdi's “Nabucco”), Susanna (Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro”), as well as Frasquita (Bizet's “Carmen”), Papagena (Mozart's “Die Zauberflöte”), and Chava (Bock's “Anatevka”).
