Symphoniker im Foyer

In the stylish ambience of Düsseldorf's opera foyer, members of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra join singers from the opera ensemble to explore well-known and lesser-known masterpieces of chamber music. The concert in February is traditionally dedicated to the carnival season!

This year, Carnival will be celebrated with culinary delights in the foyer of the opera house – the “Revue de Cuisine” by Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů recounts amusing stories from the secret life of kitchen utensils. Baritone Jake Muffett will once again be entertaining the audience when he – this time together with a chamber music ensemble from the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra – celebrates apple sparkling wine, but also presents excerpts from J. S. Bach's “Coffee Cantata,” William Bolcom's special cheesecake surprise, and waltz music by Johann Strauss (son) for the audience. And of course, there will be altbier too!
