At the start of the 26/27 season, seven young singers began their training at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein’s Opera Studio, having been selected from over 800 applications from all over the world.
The sopranos Mathilde Guedj (France) and Laura Miah (Puerto Rico), the mezzo-sopranos Maria van Hoof (Ukraine/Netherlands) and Janetka Hoşco, the Mexican tenor Iván Reséndiz, the baritone Conrad Chatterton from the UK and the German bass-baritone Robin Frindt will make their first public appearance at a foyer concert on 20 September.
The Opera Studio’s two-year programme supports highly talented emerging singers on their path to an artistic career through regular solo coaching, repertoire development, ensemble rehearsals, role study, audition training, language coaching, staged workshops and musical masterclasses with renowned teachers. At the same time, the Opera Studio members are fully integrated into the rehearsal and performance schedule and regularly appear in small and medium-sized roles on stages in Düsseldorf and Duisburg.
