Žilvinas Miškinis

Žilvinas Miškinis, who was born in Lithuania, earned his bachelor's degree from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2018. He then went on to complete his master's degree in singing with Nadiezda Kurem at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2020. As part of his studies, he participated in opera studios in Lithuania and Gothenburg, as well as masterclasses with Kostas Smoriginas, Herman Keckeis, Robert Hyman, Bo Rosenkull, Barbro Marklund, Ulrika Tenstam, Martin Hellstrom, and Almas Vilpa, among others. After receiving a scholarship from the Liz Mohn Culture and Music Foundation and spending two years at the International Opera Studio of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, where he performed a variety of roles on stage, he became a member of the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Engagements have taken him to the Vilnius State Opera and the Estonian National Opera, among others. In 2020, he sang the role of Surin (Tchaikovsky's “Pique Dame”) at the Vilnius City Opera, where he appeared on stage alongside Sergey Polyakov, Vida Miknevičiūtė, and Almas Švilpa.

His roles for the 2024/25 season include the Speaker (Mozart's “Die Zauberflöte”), Alidoro (Rossini's “La Cenerentola”), Don Fernando (Beethoven's “Fidelio”), Kuligin (Janáček's “Katja Kabanova”), and Talpa and Nicolao in the operas from Puccini's “Il trittico”.
