Iván Reséndiz

The young Mexican tenor Iván Reséndiz came to Austria in 2014 to join the renowned Vienna Boys’ Choir. As a choirboy, Iván Reséndiz took on numerous major solo roles from a young age and worked with renowned conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Adam Fischer and Erwin Ortner. From 2022 to 2024, he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Prof. Rainer Trost and continued his studies from 2024 to 2026 at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts under Prof. Michelle Breedt. He also gained valuable artistic inspiration through collaborations with Matthew Rose, KS Francisco Araiza, Javier Camarena, Francesco Pio Galasso and Saioa Hernández. Iván Reséndiz has already made his debut in various Mozart operas, such as the First Trojan in “Idomeneo” and Tamino in “The Magic Flute”. In addition to his debut as Junker Spärlich in Nicolai’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor” at Schönbrunn Palace and his role as the apprentice in Wagner’s “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” at the Vienna State Opera, the young tenor also appeared as a soloist at the Vienna Konzerthaus during the 2023/24 season. He also appeared in further productions, including “Macbeth” at the Neue Staatsoper in Vienna (NEST) and “Die Fledermaus” at the Junge Oper Schloss Weikersheim. In the 2025/26 season, Ivan Reséndiz was part of the Crescendo programme for young singers at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
From the 2026/27 season onwards, he will be part of the next generation of the Opera Studio at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
