Symphoniker im Foyer

In the elegant setting of the foyer at the Opernhaus Düsseldorf, members of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, together with singers from the opera ensemble, explore familiar and lesser-known chamber music masterpieces on select Sundays and holidays.

The opera season kicks off with Richard Wagner’s "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" — and the season’s first matinee will feature a very special arrangement from this opera by Wagner — and, of course, the premiere is also a wonderful opportunity for the symphony orchestra to celebrate other German masters of the art of song and composition, such as Gustav Mahler, Hugo Wolf, Franz Liszt, and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy — with the enthusiastic support of a true “Meistersinger” from the ensemble. And don’t worry: We’ve uninvited Merker!
